Privacy policy of Clear Expenses

Clear Expenses (“Gastos Claros” in Spanish, “the app”) is a personal expense tracker for Android. This
policy explains what data the app handles and how. Short version: your data stays on your
phone and, if you choose, in a Google spreadsheet in your own Google account. The developer has no
servers and never receives your data.
Data the app handles
- Financial information you enter or import: transactions (date, amount,
currency, category, account, note, event), categories, accounts, events, budgets and settings.
It is stored in a local database on your device.
- Your Google account email address, only if you connect Google Sheets. It is
shown in the app to identify the connected account and is saved in the “Members” field of the
transactions you create.
The app does not collect your location, contacts, photos, device identifiers
or usage statistics. The current version contains no advertising, analytics, crash reporting or
tracking SDKs. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the new version is released.
Google Sheets sync (optional)
If you choose to sync with Google Sheets, the app asks Google for permission to read and edit
spreadsheets (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets) and to see your email
address. The app uses this access only to create or open the spreadsheet you choose and to keep
your transactions, categories and accounts in sync with it. It does not access any other files in
your Google Drive.
- Data travels directly between your device and Google’s servers over an encrypted connection
(HTTPS). It does not pass through any server of the developer.
- Sign-in tokens are managed by Google Play services; the app does not store passwords or tokens.
- The spreadsheet belongs to you and is subject to
Google’s privacy policy.
Clear Expenses’ use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will
adhere to the Google
API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The data is used only
to provide the sync feature you requested; it is not sold, not used for advertising, not
transferred to third parties and not read by humans.
Backups, import and export
- Backup files and CSV/XLSX exports are saved only where you choose, and imports read only the
files you pick.
- If Android backup is enabled on your device, the system may include the app’s database and
settings in your Google account backup and in transfers to a new device. This is controlled
by your device settings.
Device permissions
- Internet and network state: only for Google Sheets sync.
- Fingerprint or screen lock (optional app lock): handled by Android; the app
never has access to your biometric data.
Sharing
The developer does not share or sell your data with anyone. The only external service the app
talks to is the Google Sheets API, and only when you turn sync on.
Retention and deletion
- Local data stays on your device until you delete it in the app, clear the app’s data or
uninstall it.
- Signing out of Google in the app revokes its access and lets you keep or delete the local
data. You can also revoke access at any time at
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- The Google spreadsheet stays in your Google Drive; you can edit or delete it there.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.

Gastos Claros («Clear Expenses» en inglés, «la app») es una app Android para registrar gastos e
ingresos personales. Esta política explica qué datos maneja la app y cómo. En resumen:
tus datos se quedan en tu móvil y, si lo eliges, en una hoja de cálculo de tu propia cuenta
de Google. El desarrollador no tiene servidores y nunca recibe tus datos.
Datos que maneja la app
- Información financiera que introduces o importas: movimientos (fecha,
importe, moneda, categoría, cuenta, nota, evento), categorías, cuentas, eventos, presupuestos y
ajustes. Se guarda en una base de datos local en tu dispositivo.
- El email de tu cuenta de Google, solo si conectas Google Sheets. Se muestra
en la app para identificar la cuenta conectada y se guarda en el campo «Miembros» de los
movimientos que creas.
La app no recoge tu ubicación, contactos, fotos, identificadores del
dispositivo ni estadísticas de uso. La versión actual no incluye publicidad, analítica, informes de
errores ni SDK de seguimiento. Si eso cambia, esta política se actualizará antes de publicar la
nueva versión.
Sincronización con Google Sheets (opcional)
Si eliges sincronizar con Google Sheets, la app pide permiso a Google para leer y editar hojas
de cálculo (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets) y para ver tu dirección de
email. La app usa este acceso solo para crear o abrir la hoja que elijas y mantener sincronizados
con ella tus movimientos, categorías y cuentas. No accede a ningún otro fichero de tu Google Drive.
- Los datos viajan directamente entre tu dispositivo y los servidores de Google por una conexión
cifrada (HTTPS). No pasan por ningún servidor del desarrollador.
- Los tokens de acceso los gestiona Google Play services; la app no guarda contraseñas ni tokens.
- La hoja es tuya y está sujeta a la
política de privacidad de Google.
El uso que hace Gastos Claros de la información recibida de las API de Google, y su transferencia a
cualquier otra app, se ajusta a la
Política de datos de
usuario de los servicios de API de Google, incluidos los requisitos de uso limitado. Los datos
solo se usan para ofrecer la sincronización que has pedido: no se venden, no se usan para
publicidad, no se transfieren a terceros y ninguna persona los lee.
Copias de seguridad, importación y exportación
- Las copias de seguridad y las exportaciones CSV/XLSX se guardan solo donde tú elijas, y la
importación lee solo los ficheros que selecciones.
- Si tienes activada la copia de seguridad de Android, el sistema puede incluir la base de datos
y los ajustes de la app en la copia de tu cuenta de Google y al transferir datos a un móvil
nuevo. Esto se controla desde los ajustes del dispositivo.
Permisos del dispositivo
- Internet y estado de la red: solo para sincronizar con Google Sheets.
- Huella o bloqueo de pantalla (bloqueo opcional de la app): lo gestiona
Android; la app nunca tiene acceso a tus datos biométricos.
Cesión de datos
El desarrollador no comparte ni vende tus datos a nadie. El único servicio externo con el que se
comunica la app es la API de Google Sheets, y solo cuando activas la sincronización.
Conservación y eliminación
- Los datos locales permanecen en tu dispositivo hasta que los borres en la app, borres los
datos de la app o la desinstales.
- Cerrar la sesión de Google en la app revoca su acceso y te deja conservar o borrar los datos
locales. También puedes revocar el acceso en cualquier momento en
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- La hoja de Google sigue en tu Google Drive; puedes editarla o borrarla allí.
Menores
La app no está dirigida a menores de 13 años.
Cambios
Si esta política cambia, la nueva versión se publicará en esta página con una fecha nueva.
